Why We Do What We Do?
Many schools are overwhelmed with the increasing number of students who are enrolled each year. Guidance counselors are overwhelmed with the amount of students they provide assistance to. The American School Counselor Association recommends a ratio of 250 students to one counselor. However, in the state of Maryland, for example, the ratio as 371-1 during the 13-14 school year. It is impossible to provide individualized support to students and their families.
In addition, many schools are facing challenges that affect student success. One primary challenge involves student behavior. Many administrators and teachers are unaware of best practices to deal with this issue which can lead to lowered school morale and a negative school culture.
We are here to bring about change at every level and in every facet of education.
